The Research, Innovation and Networking Division, Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (PKTAAB), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) successfully organised a knowledge-sharing session entitled “Leveraging USAINS for Lab Testing, Consultancy & Training” on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Bilik Mesyuarat Utama, Level 3, CTC.
The programme aimed to enhance awareness and engagement among PKTAAB staff on how to effectively utilise the USAINS platform for professional services, including laboratory testing, consultancy, commercialisation, contract research, and training opportunities.
The event featured three invited speakers from USAINS including Dr. Lim Sheh Hong, who delivered an insightful session on lab testing & analysis, highlighting available laboratory services and engagement pathways.
Ms. Nathalie Yong, who presented on consultancy, contract research & commercialisation, focusing on translating research into impactful industry solutions.
In addition, Mr. Lee Wei Sin shared valuable insights on training, talent development & HRDF opportunities, outlining mechanisms for capacity building and professional upskilling.
Participants gained practical knowledge on navigating the USAINS ecosystem, understanding service offerings and identifying opportunities for collaboration and revenue generation.
Overall, the session equipped staff with valuable insights to effectively leverage USAINS as a strategic partner in advancing research, innovation and professional services.
This programme aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening capacity building, fostering innovation through academia–industry collaboration, and enhancing strategic partnerships.
