The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed today launched the Continuous Education in Biomedical Sciences (CEBioMeds@IPPT) Programme at the USM Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (IPPT) at the Bertam campus in Penang.
According to Badrul Hisham, CEBioMeds@IPPT comprises of structured modules for a Professional Development Course in the field of Biomedical Sciences, offering a transdisciplinary course in a number of module packages.
"CEBioMeds@IPPT has been designed to cater to the needs of graduate research students at IPPT and USM, as they can register at any time and from any location," explains the CEBioMeds@IPPT Coordinator.
Said Badrul Hisham further, the aim of the team in developing and implementing this structured training programme for students who chose the research mode was to allow the research graduates to complete their studies, not only in their field but also in other areas in terms of giving added values. This can assist them in enhancing the knowledge and skills required for future work and research demands.
"Additionally, this could also fulfil employment market demands with commensurate pay at the ‘graduate employability’ (GE) level of more than 90%.
"This programme offers a course that would assist students in enhancing their knowledge and skills in the fields of biomedicine, dentistry and clinical health," he added.
Through this programme, students will also have the opportunity to discover new knowledge or skill sets, apart from their main area of research and to obtain access to theories and practices which are in trend and utilising the latest technology in the chosen research topics, which would allow for greater career opportunities or higher salary grades.
Beginning 1st March 2023, CEBioMeds@IPPT is now open for registration to students and individuals who are interested.
