MALLIKA CITY, KANCHANABURI, THAILAND, November 16 2023 -
Mallika City is a fictional city that displays a touch of culture and the old way of life of the Siamese who were previously of low status in 1905 A.D located in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand. The word "Mallika" in the Thai dictionary means "jasmine". Based on Sulak Siviraksa, who is one of the famous intellectuals said that "Mallika" is the name of one of the sources of the Ayeyarwady River Burma, in Myanmar. The river was once the center of the ancient civilization of Southeast Asia hundreds of years ago. This retro city was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V (1873-1910 A.D.). This is because of a significant change in the way of life of the Siamese people in 1905 A.D. due to the abolition of the slavery system. After liberation, these former Siamese slaves had to live and earn their living without the control and support of their masters and masters anymore. Therefore, they had to live a free and harmonious life with all other Siamese societies. These changes in the ever-changing lifestyle patterns are the foundation of Thai society today.

Traditional Thai Costume
The city is the work of Associate Professor Chatri Prakitnonthakan, chairman of architecture and related arts, at Silapakorn University. He was inspired to create a traditional town from a fictional story, where a beautiful girl named Mali who is the daughter of a farmer lives in Reuan Dieow, which is a separate house in the countryside. She married a young government official. Life after marriage, Mali started a trading business by building Reuan Pae, which is a floating house that became a place to trade with foreigners. With traditional Thai charm, her business is going well while her husband is also rising through the ranks. They are getting richer. Therefore, they built Reuan Kahabodi, which is a larger house for the rich, which is more suitable to their economic and social status. They also decided to build a group of houses called "Reuan Hmoo", to provide space for his honored guests. All the houses built by Mali and her husband in Mallika City represent all types of traditional Thai houses.
