Description : This study compares breast cancer survival and the prognostic factors in different age groups of women in Penang, Malaysia. The data of 2166 breast cancer women who were diagnosed between 2010 and 2014 were extracted from the Penang Breast Cancer Registry and stratified into three age groups young (<40 years), middle-aged (40-59 years), and elderly (?60 years). The overall and relative survival rate was calculated with life table, median survival time with Kaplan-Meier and comparison between groups with Log-rank test while the prognostic factors were analysed with Cox proportional hazards model. In conclusion, the survival rate and prognostic factors were different according to age groups. Treatment planning for breast cancer patients should be age-specified to promote better cancer care and survival.
